How to choose a machine vision backlight

Backlights sit behind the part and give the camera a sharp, high-contrast silhouette - the standard choice for gauging, outline and hole inspection, and for spotting contamination in clear film. Blue light has a short wavelength that brings out fine surface detail and scratches on shiny metal, and contrasts well against red, orange and yellow features.
