Separate aperture size from panel size

A panel with a center opening has several independent dimensions: the outside body, illuminated area, opening and mounting features. Choose the light around the fixture and imaging task, not the outside width alone. Use a model drawing whenever an opening or rear component must clear a physical part.

  • Verify the printed clear aperture shape and dimensions. Do not estimate an opening from a family photo or substitute the outside panel dimensions for it.
  • Check the emitting area around the opening and the camera field needed for the inspection, including shadows or obstructions caused by the fixture.
  • Review body depth, rear features, mounting holes, cable exit and electrical requirements together before committing to a mechanical interface.
