Choose a double-telecentric optical layout

Bi-telecentric optics are telecentric on both the object and image sides. The design class differs from object-side-only optics. Use the model data to establish the usable field and measurement conditions; the design label does not set one universal accuracy or depth-of-field value.

  • Match magnification and sensor dimensions to the required object field, then check the image-circle rating and mount for the actual camera.
  • Compare the published working distance, distortion and telecentricity for the intended object position and aperture. Keep model-specific values separate from general design principles.
  • Check the lens outline and illumination clearance before fixing the station geometry. A suitable sensor format alone does not establish mechanical fit or measurement capability.
