A code reader with a 16 mm lens (5 MP class, 90 codes/s max. reading speed), MV-ID50Y-16W is the second-longest of the 4 focal lengths in its series, for smaller detail or longer distances (about 26.7° across on a 1/1.7" sensor). It also has a resolution of 2560 x 2048 and a maximum power draw of 60 W at 24 VDC (built-in light on).

It has a built-in white light as standard. It sends results straight to a PLC over Profinet, MELSEC, Ethernet/IP, ModBus, Fins and SLMP, or to a PC over tcp client, serial, FTP and tcp server. Its 12-pin M12 connector carries power and I/O: three opto-isolated inputs for a photo-eye or PLC trigger, three opto-isolated outputs to pass read results to a PLC or a reject gate and an RS-232 port.
