Phone-frame positioning: use the outline and cut-outs together
A bright frame face, darker openings and a clear outer boundary are visible in the source capture. They provide several geometric features to test for localization before any positioning accuracy is claimed.
Use stable geometry for position; validate the machine-coordinate result separately.

What the camera saw
Cropped from the source test sheet; original test annotations are retained. Captures are not generated or enhanced. Drag a comparison slider, or open any image full size.
The challenge
A frame may be partly saturated even while the openings remain dark. A rule must tolerate ordinary reflection changes.
Position and orientation should be tied to stable geometry rather than incidental surface brightness.
How it was solved
The source identifies the white adjustable four-sided light and labels the task contour positioning.
Test an outline plus selected cut-outs on the actual frame. The proposed 3D frame is a representative bench specimen; source dimensions and source camera field are not supplied.
Why it works
- 1
The bright face and dark openings provide complementary geometry for a localization trial.
- 2
Those visible features do not establish coordinate accuracy, calibration or robot-handling performance.

Evidence you can inspect
The frame outer boundary and several cut-outs are clearly visible.
The catalog labels the example mobile-phone contour positioning under the white adjustable four-sided light.
No source frame dimensions, camera recipe, localization algorithm, position error or cycle time is given.

What to validate on your part
- 01
Choose stable reference features
Use cut-outs and boundaries that remain present across the accepted design variants.
- 02
Vary finish and loading
Include normal reflectivity, part tilt, placement and fixture-background changes.
- 03
Calibrate the downstream coordinates
Measure image-to-machine registration separately if the result drives placement or motion.

Mount the optics with intent
The station is an optical test bench, with its two lighting holders included in the catalog listing. The 3D column and base follow the published height and footprint. Carriages, clamps and part supports are schematic: confirm camera screw pattern, lens support, light fasteners, permissible load and actual travel before ordering.
Complete the electrical system
Select a controller against the exact light voltage, drive mode and power, then confirm camera data/power/I/O cables and a suitable PC. These are not silently added to the proposed optical kit.

The configurator opens with this study's camera, lens, light and station picked. Swap any part, check fit and price, then buy or ask for a quote.
Camera and available lens CAD are published models. Lens and light envelopes use printed dimensions. The linked station uses its published base size and column height; carriage, brackets, fittings, parts and spacing are illustrative. Confirm load, travel, fasteners and clearances before ordering. Light paths explain the arrangement and do not simulate optical performance. Representative part geometry is illustrative, not reconstructed inspection evidence. The specimen and lighting angle are representative, not dimensions or settings recovered from the source capture.
